How we decide
The standard we hold ourselves to
We opened these doors without a single review, and we won’t invent any. So instead of telling you what other people felt, this page shows you how we work: the questions everything must answer, the tricks we refuse to use, and the things you’ll know before you have to ask.
Our five filters
Five questions, before anything leaves this room
Every page, every object, every day of the app answers these. If it fails one, we don’t make it. No exceptions, including profitable ones.
-
Does this help someone build a better relationship with themselves?
If it doesn’t, it isn’t MEe.
-
Is it simple?
Simplicity always wins.
-
Does it create emotion? Does someone pause and feel “that’s me”?
If not, it isn’t good enough yet.
-
Does it feel like MEe, or could any other brand have made it?
If another brand could have made it, we haven’t found our voice yet.
-
Does it build trust over the long term?
We build relationships with people, not content for an algorithm.
On selling
On selling
Our goal is not to avoid selling.
Our goal is to avoid manipulation.
We will recommend things we believe belong together. We will tell you when shipping becomes free. What we will not do is push, and the list below is permanent.
- Countdown timers Nothing here expires at midnight.
- “Only 3 left” If something is genuinely limited, we say so, and we tell you why. The Star Jar is made by one maker in small batches; that’s a fact about a person, not a sales tactic.
- Pop-ups that interrupt you You came here to read. We’ll be here when you’re done.
- Anything designed to make you feel not enough Our whole reason for existing points the other way.
Before you ask
The things you shouldn’t have to go looking for
- Prices are stated once, plainly. No anchor prices, no permanent sales. The number next to a thing is what it costs.
- Every object is described by its ritual, and specified in one line. We tell you what a thing does for you, then what it is: size, count, price. We don’t decorate materials with adjectives.
- The app’s price will be public before you ever download it. What it costs and what’s included, on the page, before the doors open.
Personal reflections belong to the user. We do not sell or share them.
That is the whole privacy principle, and every decision downstream of it follows. There are no third-party trackers on our emotionally personal pages, this one included.
On reviews
Why there are no stars on this site
The doors just opened. Nobody has lived with these objects long enough to speak honestly about them, and borrowed or invented praise would fail filter 05 on the first day. When real words from real people exist, we’ll publish them as written. Until then, this page is what we offer instead: not what others felt, but what we hold ourselves to.
If we ever break one of these, tell us. We answer. And if you’d like a letter when the app opens its doors, come say hello.
